Here’s an alternate take. Keeping in mind that La’an is a security officer trained in investigative methods.
La’an could hear the voices and footfalls of a security response team. She knew they would be there in moments.
The investigators would be looking for the gun that shot Kirk and 3 guards.
With that weapon recovered, the search would focus on the missing shooter who they would have on security cameras in the foyer.
Without the weapon, there would be another level of scrutiny, and such scrutiny might draw attention to the Noonien-Singh project that might be enough in itself to alter history.
By leaving the weapon in plain sight, with her own markered DNA on it as well as Sera’s likely-tweaked Romulan DNA, she’s left enough for the investigators to look beyond the facility for their escaped killer without actually revealing how and where she and Sera exited.
Somewhere I read the comment, "LinkedIn is like high school but for adults." I see it as a circle jerk of enthusiastic Kool-aid guzzlers mixed with the greatest hits of Hallmark card business wisdom. A place where people excitedly chat about how really REALLY NICE the weather is.
As someone who is unemployed I detest it and the culture it promotes. The switch in my brain that recognizes the job search must be transactional cannot be willfully ignored for some reason. If I met people organically and shared a genuine interest then sure, you can call that "networking" if you like. That's a great path if you have a job and plenty of time to tend to those relationships.
Wading through all the Mr. Meeseeks wannabee LinkedIn influencers certainly does not restore my faith in humanity though. /rant
I HAVE THE GREATEST JOB IN THE WORLD!!! Thanks so much to @rist097 for hosting this 3-day roundtable on career leadership. "A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way." #leadership#lovemyjob#notdoingitforthemoney
Millennials and Gen-Z are truly the lost generation.
Imagine still living with parents in your late twenties or even early thirties because you simply cannot afford to even rent your own place. Now imagine that work pays like shit and you are busting your ass working long hours to chase an eternal pipe dream of economic prosperity. You can’t even seek psychiatric help for your ailing mental health because it’s expensive, inaccessible and oversubscribed.
For a man, being in that situation makes you downright undateable so it’s not like you can rely on the joint incomes that couples do either.
And we wonder why toxic masculinity is on the rise…
The rich have done a smash & grab on the economy and made everybody poorer as a result of their own greed. It’s a dangerous game.
If you wanted the younger generation to continue producing workers for the capitalist machine, you should have made sure that potential parents had enough resources to actually maintain a family if they started one.
But yeah, that would have slightly reduced quarterly profits, and we can’t have that kind of long-sightedness messing with the short-term returns of our shareholders.
I have the CPU and RAM of two PowerVault NX3200s that were destined for the skip jammed into one chassis. It powers one hell of a nice Plex server running on UnRaid.
