They are analog roller shades. I feel like it could be a decent project but my budget isn’t great, so i do want to know if that is something worth DIYing or not. Also I wouldn’t know what micro controller to use....
Hello everyone, I realised we don’t really have an introductory or meta thread for this community, and I thought it might be wise to create one....
I am a PSE for a large corporation that most people would not be familiar with (those users that frequent this sub probably would). However, we supply business critical software to many of the big companies you definitely do know. This puts me in a position where I work directly with some of the most well paid ‘tech execs’...
I was investigating why is one of the air vents so loud when AC is running. Turned out the air duct is not actually behind the vent, but to the side of it....
I have a few servers without offsite backups. Luckily I just acquired a new physical location that allows me the opportunity to run a fully self-owned backup server....
Getting us started! :)...
I’m trying to watch Voyager again(never finished it, dropped it around season 3) and every time i’m watching VOY I think to myself: “why am I watching this when I could be watching DS9?” so I’m mixing both right now....
Could use a dedicated meme community.
test post DO NOT IGNORE 😎😎😎😎
Before the subreddit went private I was able to make a backup of the wiki. As far as I’m aware Lemmy does not currently have a community wiki functionality, so I will be posting the pages from the old wiki here as individual posts....
Big thanks to everyone who setting this up. I look forward to lurking and posting silly nonsense about Trek canon here.
I finally decided to buy a mini PC to make it as a pfsense router and I was wondering witch option is more suitable for my needs...
I’m using LibraryThing, after fleeing GoodReads a few years back, and I just learned about BookWyrm. I’m interested in what others apps and sites are out there for keeping track of your books and/or to-read list, and/or reviewing and/or discussing them, and what folks think about them.
Hello everyone, and welcome to our daily JLPT thread! It’s insane seeing the community grow up to 20 users. I want to keep these posts up in hopes of building an active community that focuses on what the Japanese language is, and how it works. It really is a fascinating subject to study!...

List as many or as few as you like!
I’m a data scientist, but i lurk too with the sysadmin people. Anyone begun to use any aspects of Microsoft Fabric? It seems MS really wants to democratize data for organizations....
Post about books you recently finished, and if you’d like, a brief review of the book here!...
I don’t want right-wing fanatics…I don’t want leftist fanatics…I want a place where all views can be discussed with respect and civility. /r/politics was NOT that place. I hope Lemmy can avoid the echo chamber to allow respectful disagreement and discourse to occur (while not overly defending extremists on either side)....
Right now I am looking at NZ’s second hand marketplace TradeMe. But there are not very many options. Are there any other places I could look to buy? Or is it better to use a couple of Orange Pi 5s? My budget is $800 NZD or around $500 USD.
Do you buy rent or borrow? Or do you have a subscription of some kind? Do you read physical books or do you read ebooks?

Hello everyone, and welcome to our daily JLPT thread! As the tests get nearer and nearer, I’m thinking on focusing on N4-N3 grammar for a few days, since I think those are probably the most popular tests, and the bulk of potential readers will fall under that level most likely. That said, let us begin!...
