A lot of us are pretty new to the fediverse and we've arrived just in time to grapple with what is easily the biggest federation/defederation controversy ever to hit it. Did Google help reddit? A short time ago the score for the reddit app was down around 3.2 as everyone gave it 1 star for how bad it was and all the drama going on. I just opened the play store today and the app has a 4.2. Did Google delete or discount some of those reviews?

There seems to be a few waves of users created just to post spam specifically in kbin. It's quite strange as the posts are so obvious and they keep getting downvoted. I'm also blocking the users but I can't see a way to report them. Is there a better way to handle this situation?
Abandoned large magazines are being bombarded with spam and admins are nowhere to be seen it seems. Hundreds of spam bot posts have not been deleted for months, see /infosec /internet /opensource /science, etc. and there are some posts about admins not responding to reports. I discovered yesterday evening that Lemmy.ml is blocking all inbound ActivityPub requests from /kbin instances. Specifically, a 403 'access denied' is returned when the user agent contains "kbinBot" anywhere in the string. This has been causing a cascade of failures with federation for many server owners, flooding the message...
