There seems to be a few waves of users created just to post spam specifically in kbin. It's quite strange as the posts are so obvious and they keep getting downvoted. I'm also blocking the users but I can't see a way to report them. Is there a better way to handle this situation?
I use equalizerAPO on windows currently, is there something similar for Linux?
Hey guys, I'm toying with the idea of deploying a personal kbin instance in Azure. Has anyone done this and have any tips to share? What kind of costs am I looking at?
Have been using this for occasional outside broadcasts. It stopped working today. Downgrading to version 7.0.4 fixed it for now. Unfortunately Rustdesk doesn't support reverse tunnels so I'll have to hunt for an alternative method.
I've been recommended some communities on Lemmy servers, but when I go to kbin.social/m/community_name@server, I get a 404. What do I need to do for a community to get federated?
I posted on here the other day about some suspicious 240v cable and followed the recommendations to replace it. I was already leaning that way but was kind of hoping to be told I was overthinking it. But you all confirmed what I thought. I ran close to 25’ of 10/2 cable from the second story to the basement. Nothing is wired...
I was trying to troubleshoot a home networking issue, and I plugged my laptop's Ethernet cable into the second bridge port. I thought it would recognize that the device wasn't a router and assign a local IP address behind a firewall. Nope. Windows was assigned an external one....
Hi everyone, I recently landed a new job where the base 401(k) contribution for all FTEs is 12% of your salary. This is regardless of your contribution, with no additional match. I realize that this is unusual for most people and it is for me as well. In my last job, I got up to a 6% match so I maxed that out and didn't think on...
Hello,...
I run a web server (lighttpd) to serve a few pages to the world. I've installed the nordvpn client and when I run it two expected things happen:...
Please let me know if there is a better community to post to. This one seems like a good place to start....
I just had 2 play over themselves on my feed. I'd rather not block channels or users just to stop it. Videos should never autoplay in the threads
Flipboard has recently begun federation, starting with 25 accounts. These accounts can be viewed from Kbin with their posts showing up as microblog posts....
Check this out. Remember that Facebook isn't just the place where moms and aunts swap recipes:...
With Meta beginning to test federation, there's a lot of discussion as to whether we should preemptively defederate with Threads. I made a post about the question, and it seems that opinions differ a lot among people on Kbin. There were a lot of arguments for and against regarding ads, privacy, and content quality, but I don't...
I really enjoy finding abstract natural patterns in ice in the Wintry season.
Just bought a pc laptop and want to dual boot Linux. Windows will be for some games, Linux for everything else. Would this be the right place to ask for advice?
Hey everyone. This magazine was on the abandoned list, so I put in to take over ownership, and here we are! I'd like to revive the sysadmin community here on kbin, and create a solid resource for all of us admins here on the fediverse....
As I'm sure some of you noticed, very shortly after Ernest posted the update to KBin that allowed for abandoned magazine adoption, I took over this magazine....
So, Pakistan and Israel did emerge from what can be described as ‘religious nationalism’, but this nationalism was an extension of the inherently secular idea of nationalism....
A lot of artists, etc. are reluctant to leave corporate social media like Twitter, due to fears over the Fediverse (usually spread by other people, that think Fediverse = Gab + some cryprobros + maybe Pawoo), or not willing to understand it....
One of the extremely useful things about reddit was that content was somewhat organized by URL. Each post was created in a subreddit. So you could do websearch like keyword site:reddit.com/r/subreddit...
