There's a non-zero chance that NDAs could use to shield bad people and/or bad companies from criticism, but often they're just used to stop spreading info to competitors, stop spoiling stuff, etc. Not crediting someone is usually scumbaggery, but in case of VTubers, they usually get doxxed within a week, especially big names and those that used to be big previously.

An even bigger issue IMHO are NCAs.

A case for preemptively defederating with Threads ( kbin.social )

With Meta beginning to test federation, there's a lot of discussion as to whether we should preemptively defederate with Threads. I made a post about the question, and it seems that opinions differ a lot among people on Kbin. There were a lot of arguments for and against regarding ads, privacy, and content quality, but I don't...

I have already done my part on my Mastodon account.

My main concern is the awful moderation of Meta's services. Bullying, celebration of loss of rights and violence committed towards of protected minorities; and outright misinformation are allowed. All while the very same people duped the moderation AI to flag any criticism of said hate speech as the real hate speech because false reportings. Facebook, instagram, etc. are notorious for letting big far-right accounts get away with hate speech and defamation, and I don't really think it'll be different on Threads for very long.

EDIT: In the meanwhile, I remembered screenshots of showing this exact moderation problem already happening on Threads, but to a way lesser degree, than on Facebook so far. Maybe this will make them getting booted from even the instances that didn't originally plan to defederate them.

Even when he went back, his greatest innovation was bringing elite projection to the computing world.

Thinking on creating a guide on leaving Twitter etc. for creators, etc., some tips on what it should include? ( kbin.social )

A lot of artists, etc. are reluctant to leave corporate social media like Twitter, due to fears over the Fediverse (usually spread by other people, that think Fediverse = Gab + some cryprobros + maybe Pawoo), or not willing to understand it....

I personally prefer the term "Butlerian Jihadist" myself.

Things are different though:

  1. Scale. I cannot just look at all existing art and images, then build up a visual library based on them.
  2. "Prompting" is the techbro's idea of creation. Someone, who does not understand something having some vague ideas for something, but since not understanding how creation works, be it art or some tech gadget ideas they come up (I know a lot of that kind of people), all they have is a vague idea of something new.
  3. When people sample music, they often do it out of love, not to rub it into musicians' face for not joining their band. Many AI bros are just angry at artists for them not working for free, exposure, etc., in some project full of red flags. Thus they started to let out their frustration on artists.
  4. Due to how techbros view this technology, I'm now supposed to throw out all my skills with "real" art, throw out all my equipment, and only rely on "prompts", because "that's the future". You want something more interactive? Maybe even have your own style? Maybe when our lord and savior Elon Musk develops the NeuraLink Chip and the tech behind AI will be better...

Due to how bad and unimaginative AI "art" is, I cannot use it in my projects, even if in theory I'm one of the target audiences: I'm an indie gamedev, working alone on a project that grew out of its own scope. I'm a good programmer and writer, but "only" good at those, not some ground-changer. I'm also a mediocre artist and musician. I could use AI generated assets for the example games of my engine. But I will NEVER do as such! Cliche-ish artstyles, barely understands what should go where, and AI generated music is even worse, often giving me enough motivation to do one more trial at composing.

Normally, I wouldn't care about it. I might be amazed by its trippy hallucinations like I was when the first of such technology came out. However, many people think this will be the "next step in human expression", and "we need to learn to live with it". I even seen promising artists with interesting artstyles giving up on their craft, to jump onto "prompting", because some techbro on twitter bullied them for doing art "the old way".

These people only care about the supposed "productivity loss" that is supposedly introduced from remote work.

And even then, biases are not entirely bad. I often like to say, that I'm biased towards both truth and science.

Can someone name me the conservative philosopher?

He wrote a book about how the right must be hypocritical and just shrug it off, while relentlessly attacking the opposition for being as such. His given name was like "Carl" or something.
