A solid story driven experience would be great. Speaking from experience with Star Trek Online, it would be totally fine to see focus put on one style of gameplay rather than trying a few and getting a mediocre result for each.
Honestly I haven't seen much of this game (having a PhD to finish and all, I haven't allowed myself to hahaha), but I am hopeful that it will allow me to try to solve conflicts with diplomatic and out of the box thinking instead of just combat, and having it feel like I haven't cheated myself out of content: it bothers me that I can't avoid conflict in most games without feeling like I'm missing out, and Star Trek is the perfect IP to make it work.
I've been most looking forward to finally enjoying a new generation of star trek! I've only recently had the chance to get into star trek, so I'm not quite as big of a trekky as lot of you, but boy do I sure love a moopsie...
"The Flight Of The Phoenix" is a great old-style Hollywood movie. A plane crashes in the African desert and the crew and passengers have to find a way to get home. Exactly the kind of movie Roddenberry would have been thinking of when he pitched TOS.
I tried to find out more about the guy who made it but he hasn't posted to BBS since 2020, has a suspended reddit account, and a deleted Twitter.
I have to imagine someone that trekkish is at least familiar with Our Website so fingers crossed someone might know him because I would totally get one of these too.
I hope that our real first contact will be peaceful, the beginning of a partnership, and opening humanity to a wider universe, rather than a prelude to war and destruction for either party.
