That's news to me. But it's probably been over a decade since I last looked into it. At one point they were even selling domesticated foxes to people as pets but were warning about their scenting. Thanks for the update!

Their only edge over taxi companies was their ability to avoid current labor laws.

Taxis have upped their app game. And a lot of people prefer taxis and drivers who actually know where they are going. Uber and Lyft started by discounting rides and paying for them with VC money. After they took enough taxi market share they had to switch to making a profit so they took it from driver pay. Their only path for making a profit is their ability to skirt labor laws. That’s why they want to pull out of markets that force them to pay drivers better.

In some states being a state rep isn’t paid well or is only a few weeks of work a year. But I would love a law that makes the Fed minimum wage no less than half a house rep salary.

They are 480i. But the difference may be that DS9 and Voyager were shot and stored on tape. The laserdisc was sourced from those tapes much earlier so it’s probably a higher quality transfer than the DVDs which came later. Looking on memory alpha the first laser disc releases were about a decade before they made it to DVD. The image quality may be better on laserdisc.

Just an FYI it would take a lot of money and I mean A LOT of money to offset the mental and emotional anguish caused by a 1 hour commute. Guaranteed way more than any company would be willing to pay.
