boredsquirrel , in [Solved]What happened to my background/desktop?

Looks like your accent color automatically gets chosen from the background. But I didnt know that that many icons have different colors??

I only know Dolphin changing color

Shady_Shiroe OP ,
@Shady_Shiroe@lemmy.world avatar

My background isn't yellow, it's mountains with a blue sky.

I believe this might be an issue with an app called redshift that automatically comes with mint, it uses geoclue2 which relies on Mozilla Location Service which got shut down like 2 weeks ago. Maybe it malfunctioned that even uninstalling it doesn't help

boredsquirrel ,

Ooooh lol! I thought that was your sky color.

You dont need Redshift, uninstall that. Plasma has its own tool for that.

Did you do some frankenstein install on top of Mint??

Shady_Shiroe OP ,
@Shady_Shiroe@lemmy.world avatar

Never used redshift only to see what the heck it was.

I will be honest I didn't know much about kde as only had experience with gnome and cinnamon, when plasma 6 dropped I decided to look into it, and ended up liking it a lot more than cinnamon.. Didn't feel like setting up/downloading things again when distro hopping so I back ported kde from kubuntu.

boredsquirrel ,

Yes but you messed up your config. KDE has basically everything included so for sure remove Redshift, that may be an issue.

Even though this looks more like a color inversion.

arran4 , in Unable to login after suspend

That can happen if you make a major change such as major update to the binaries (ie a software update) while the screen is locked. Or because the screen "saver" / "locker" crashed.

penquin OP ,
@penquin@lemm.ee avatar

I didn't make anything except run my usual update like every time from the desktop, not when the screen is locked. Anyway to fix this?

bjoern_tantau ,
@bjoern_tantau@swg-empire.de avatar

Reboot after updates or at least log out and back in.

But I've also had this happen with nvidia graphics. They were just unstable after a standby.

federino , in KDE Plasma 6.1.1 released!

They fixed tens of bugs in a week's time? Holy shit

boredsquirrel , in KDE Plasma 6.1.1 released!

Came over night on Fedora Kinoite.

Quite like it, everything is rooound. In Dolphin with the right-click select I can now make a circle!

But why are the lower window borders still square? And that is with Qt/KDE apps!

boredsquirrel ,

Poorly it introduced multiple crashes this session... error reports already sent, btw I dont think downloading debug symbols works on Fedora Kinoite?

Try deleting or renaming ~/.cache/icon-cache.kcache

I'm also experiencing this bug, regardless on which theme I set (Breeze, Breeze Dark, Breeze Dark EndeavourOS, Breeze Twilight). The folder icon is the only one with this problem, and only when the window has focus

fossphi , in This began with plasma 6.1. Selected folders are now black, I think they were dark blue when selected.

Can not reproduce with stock Breeze theme on Arch

Strit , in This began with plasma 6.1. Selected folders are now black, I think they were dark blue when selected.
@Strit@lemmy.linuxuserspace.show avatar

Are you using the default Breeze theme?

I've heard such issues can arise with 3rd party themes, so I just stick to Breeze. I'm using Breeze Dark and I have not seen this issue on Plasma 6.1.

mox , in [SOLVED] Black OBS capture on KDE neon 6

Do you have the xdg-desktop-portal-kde package installed?

Yes

e_t_ Admin , in [SOLVED] Black OBS capture on KDE neon 6

Try systemctl --user restart pipewire pipewire-pulse

KaKi87 OP ,
@KaKi87@jlai.lu avatar

The command itself doesn't output any error, but starting OBS just after executing the command triggers the following :

warning: The Wayland connection broke. Did the Wayland compositor die?
warning: Attempting wayland reconnect
warning: Failed to write to the pipe: Bad file descriptor.
info: adding 21 milliseconds of audio buffering, total audio buffering is now 21 milliseconds (source: Desktop Audio)

Outside of the Firefox explicit sync bug, this has been absolutely excellent during the beta

Max_P ,
@Max_P@lemmy.max-p.me avatar

There's a bug with explicit sync? I'm running patched KWin 6.0.5 and no issues whatsoever with Firefox.

dinckelman ,

Confirmed to be a firefox implementation bug, still not fixed

cesi OP , in Possible to scroll sideways on Okular?

Unfortunately, Alt+Wheel doesn't work. It does the same as Wheel only. This is how it was forever. I'm not in fit page or fit width mode, no. Never worked with older versions, nor with the latest plasma Fedora 40 KDE spin where Plasma 6. All my mice with a single wheel and do not tilt. I'm out of luck.

mox ,

Alt+Wheel works for me. Plasma 5.27.5, Qt 5.15.8, Okular 22.12.3.

Is it possible you have overridden the default shortcuts, or something is interfering with them?

Do you have an unusual mouse wheel, like one that rolls freely instead of in steps, or a touchpad-simulated one?

Maybe you've discovered a Plasma 6 bug?
