You can pretty much just install Mint or Pop OS and go. There are a lot of options (I would argue too many) but you can ignore most of them as a beginning user. No one should recommend arch to a beginner and anyone who does should be shot.
Apart from screen mirroring and sms that everyone has mentioned the proprietary alternative undeniably has more features.
I don't know whether it is phone link or link to windows but one of them has a feature where your phone can be used as a webcam over WiFi. As someone who set up ip webcam on my phone and used obs virtual camera through most of the pandemic's online classes it's quite useful and I'd like to see features like that just work and are not relying on mjpeg and proprietary software on the phone end.
Their auto hotspot feature i haven't gotten to work and i think is useless but I'm thankful that i don't have to turn off kde connect when using samsung dex.
We are less than 50 days away from the final version of #Plasma6.
Along with Frameworks 6 and KDE Gear 24.02, the Megarelaease on the 28th of February will be one of the biggest and more complex upgrades in KDE's history.
One more RC will be released on the 31st of January and then it will be (hopefully) clear sailing until the final release.
Fedora has KDE 6 in a testing branch I think. Would be good if you’re willing to test it because they’re looking for people to go through user test scenarios.

Thank you, that sheds some light onto it, yes. I'm still wondering how this number marches up. Just using the device by far uses not even comparable amount of energy than e.g. the production and then it also depends if you use green energy or a diesel generator in your backyard.

Ok. You have ton understand that neither Kmail nor Kontact are part of the Plasma project in any shape or form. The same way as Krita, Kdenlive, KDE Connect, GCompris, etc. are not part of Plasma. Plasma does not need any of them to be fully functional and, conversely, none of them need Plasma. Hell, most of them don’t even need Linux, being able to work on Windows, macOS, Android, etc.
Are KMail and Kontact dependant on Akonadi? Yes, but, again, Akonadi is not part of Plasma either. All are KDE, but they are all different projects, and none of them are Plasma.

The name is derived from the website eco.kde.org, originally created for the FOSS-oriented project "Blauer Engel For FOSS" (BE4FOSS). KDE has been working with the Capeverdean American Community Development (CACD) of Providence, Rhode Island, to provide IT lessons to underprivileged teens.
Just a note, when I first launch cyberpunk 2077, my mouse has an issue where its stuck in the center of the screen, if I change the resolution of the game to something smaller and then change it back to my default res, it fixes it. Was on pop!_os before this and didn’t have the issue even when on wayland. Seems related. Thanks for KDE NEON and plasma 6. I just switched to it and overall I am very happy! @kde
