@arstechnica Wha- WHY? It can't be worth the metal reclamation given how much it would cost just to steal it and they would have mostly gotten wires and such. And it has to be hard to fence that much anyway. If they wanted to setup their own broadcasts, the signals would be traced... If it were vandalism they would have destroyed it and left it.
What confuses me is why wasn't this discovered sooner? They sent people to clear the area. They didn't notice it was off-air until called.
