@rbreich It’s not just modern fascists. The German nazis in fact didn’t come for the communists first, as the famous poem goes.
They came for the LGBTQ+. The clinic who had performed one of the first gender-affirming surgeries was among the first targets of Hitler’s still young nazi party’s band of thugs.
It is the same. For our slipping toward fascism is an inborn trait. We need to work to stay out of that slip. Actively. Stopping means slipping back!
I disagree. The spreading of hate is its own thing. Harming is its own thing. Think of fascists as haters "enjoying" the pain they inflict and your picture of fascism is clearer.
@rbreich The list goes all the way to Catholics IMHO. There was a point in North America (both Canada & USA) when Catholics were not allowed to vote or hold office.
Once the WASPs are done hating trans, sexuality, sex, and race, it will be religion. Then, with any luck, they will eat themselves.
