So capitalism itself is the major reason drugs are insanely priced, and also why there aren't others that are available.

@arstechnica So, there are shortages in the US because generic medication has become so cheap it isn't profitable anymore. Yet the US has one of the world's highest medication prices, about 3 times as high as other industrialized countries. But no other country reporting shortages, definitely not at this scale.

Something doesn't add up here.
