Spot on. Religions and theism have done a staggering amount of damage throughout history and the faithful eagerly show no signs of stopping.

@georgetakei I agree with him. Religon is about control. Just the concept that that if you accept suffering in this life and work hard something better is coming when you die is really about controlling the masses.
@georgetakei Knowing it's history, I can understand Cox's stance. It was created in 321AD by a gathering of proto-Christian sects held in Rome by Emperor Constantine. Much of what went into it was Roman grotesqueries, rather than Jesus's original teachings.
