The CFPB set a rule limiting credit card late fees to save American families ~$10 billion/yr.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce sued to stop it.

Republicans in Congress are trying to kill it.

The government is tackling junk fees, and corporate interests couldn't be more upset.

@rbreich
Seems to suggest they aren't "for" the common folk, despite what they proclaim when trying to get elected. Same as Conservatives in Canada.

@rbreich Does anyone remember the 18% cap on credit card interest rates from the 1970s or 1980s? Whatever happened to that?

SueDiOh ,

@rbreich I hope Joe Biden goes after their ridiculous variable interest rates, too.

@rbreich any word from the Parliamentarian?

nabucci ,

@rbreich I heard an ad tacked onto a podcast this morning warning me that if this very terrible law passes I would lose my credit card rewards. If I value my rewards, I must call my congressman!
