Report: Microsoft to face antitrust case over Teams

Unbundling Teams from Office has apparently failed to impress EU regulators.

@arstechnica reports wrong user status, shows outdated chats when I'm required to sign in again, bad sound for attendees when I'm on Firefox, file uploads often fail, no proper integration with outlook emails, no proper theming, android app requires google play services.
The selling strategy is certainly better than the product.

@arstechnica they blocked Teams on Linux, blocked Teams on Chromium, blocked Teams on Firefox. Had to fake user agents, had to add data to localStorage to make v2 working. Had to disable other video and audio sources so it can't select wrong sources. No other program on my computer consumes more resources than Teams. Video quality in bigger meetings is mostly like typical gaming on a C64, even with high end hardware.
Why?
It's bundled with Office so the company is not looking for alternatives.

@arstechnica Well it’s a great collaboration tool, but…cramming it down everyone’s throat is bad (MS please take note….this would apply to Copilot as well) and well the things a nosey PITA that constantly declares incorrect statuses. The team I am on part of the time basically just does a dm equivalent to Marco Polo because it has flagged the status wrong so many times.

@arstechnica Microsoft should first be punished because Teams is so, so bad.
