@georgetakei the most puzzling shower I ever used wasn't even in a hotel but in an apartment I rented for four years. You turn the taps and water runs into the bath. Then you grab the bottom of the faucet, out of which water is running and pull it down, and the water starts coming out the shower head instead.
I asked my landlord (a jolly guy) why he hadn't considered upgrading in the last reno and he confessed he enjoyed getting the panicked phone calls at the start of rental season 😈
