@arstechnica Funny that a self driving car gets probed by a federal agency, but every day I see a ton of human drivers violating traffic laws - double parking, blocking bike lanes, blocking traffic, making illegal turns, running red lights - many of those could cause severe injuries and even deaths to all road users, and they don’t even get a ticket.

@arstechnica I watched a WAYMO pull right out into oncoming traffic, near my neighborhood, the other day. 3 lanes of traffic slowed and veered around the car.

People do this kind of mistake, too. But people have safety and self interest in mind, and may be held accountable.

@arstechnica They never should have been allowed to make the public their beta testers. Government regulators 100% failed in their duty to protect us, and these reckless tech companies who have no use for ethics because it can't be turned into a revenue stream need to be reigned in like yesterday.
