If she gets tall enough she might look for a career in the WNBA. When I was young this didn't exist, but now, these ladies make big bucks.

Over 45 years ago(!), our parents actively supported all three of us, for absolutely no matter what we wanted to do. It only counted that we wanted to do it. And not if it was boy or girl stuff.

Some neighbours, however, had different ideas of what would be appropriate behaviour for a boy or a girl on public.

I can recall that some of them didn't want to talk about this with our parents again, after they tried to.

I hoped this was overcome.

@georgetakei I believe the author of the article needs to do more research. They were far too generous to MIL. The idea that maybe it's not cool to tell girls to be more lady-like or boys to be more man-like, that's not something that just showed up in the last two or three decades.
