@arstechnica a lot of cloud services can use hardware offload GPUs for compute rather than legacy CPUs which which are more power intensive but you can have denser compute in the same rack space. It’s not just AI’s fault. Cooling is becoming more of a problem with the power density. DCs are getting more efficient at consuming power.
