@rbreich Trump "impressively" demonstrated already during his first term that he does not understand macroeconomics. He seriously thought that it would be the EU and China, who'd have to pay the tariffs (which he called taxes), not even remotely considering that taxes and tariffs increase the retail prices. This is economy 101 ... the purpose of tariffs (protecting your domestic economy and control imports) and taxes are not the same - what a pathological tax evader like Trump won't understand!
