There are some "black" bears that are actually not black, e.g. cinnamon bears.

@georgetakei There are things you must do in each case. Black bears can be chased off by noise, like from a little bell. Just ring it, and they'll run off. Brown bears use bear spray. Also, they can be identified by their scant. Grisly bears are known for their fearless to noise or bear spray. Their scant know for the bells and bear spray cans beside it.

Black bears can often be brown or even white - as is the case with Spirit (Kermode) bears. One species though.

@georgetakei Not all black bears are black and not all brown bears are brown. Very important to know if you’ve run into a grizzly.
