(meta) Does anyone whose lemmy account is here notice missing comments/votes/etc on posts from other instances?

I prefer to use this instance as my primary, but I’ve noticed a lot of missing comments/votes/etc on posts from other instances. I’ll switch between this account and one on lemmy.world or Lemm.ee and notice that I’m not seeing all the activity. Does anyone know why?...

The horrible morals of a show supposed to teach them

I’ve been watching the various Star Trek shows for a while now, and while not finished I saw most of them, I believe. And I cannot shake off the feeling that the messages given by these shows, especially (and almost exclusively) recent ones are pushing horrible morals that most people seem to not care about....

I don't think Seska had anything to do with ending of Worst Case scenario (Voyager S3E25).

I think this episode is part one of the holonovel followed by the second part during the second half. The only break we take from seeing the holonovel be played is when they tell captain Janeway (where she implies that she has to be made to look good) about the first half and when Tom and Tuvok are in the mess hall being hassled...

Fashy TV is turning me off to my favorite stories.

I started watching Star Trek Discovery. The vibe of the show thus far is pretty fashy and reactionary. There’s always been some good discussion on the nature of the federation and and it’s politics and methods, but so far it feels sinister. I’ve gotten vibes like this from other shows, it’s like the underlying ideology...

"We Didn't Start the Fire" set at the end of different series?

I spent the morning listening to the Fall Out Boy version of "We Didn't Start the Fire". Since Star Trek in the Kelvin timeline and elsewhere often re-uses songs from our time, I thought it would be hilarious if "We Didn't Start the Fire" ended up being updated every 35 years or so, till the 32nd century....
