I listed to a handful, and they don’t remember a surprising amount of stuff.

Also the actor who played Harry Kim, kinda comes off as a diva. Like he was complaining that the boots he had to wear were worn by another actor before him.

Then he stopped caring when he realized that they were worn by Data. I kinda forget exactly what else.

There were some interesting bits of info, but I can’t say if it’s new. It was new to me. But I only got into trek after the 09 movie.

It seems that every tv show has a podcast now, and that kinda turned me off to the entire concept of rewatch podcasts. It’s done for money instead of passion, so I may be a bit biased against it.

Braga: ‘I still cringe when I hear it.’ Apparently, it was a long road to the franchise’s most despised title music ( www.slashfilm.com )

Working from the oral history in The Five Year Mission: The next 25 years, this is a fascinating deep dive that answers the question “How did a recycled cover of a 1998 song written for Rod Stewart, ‘Where My Heart Will Take Me’ aka ‘Faith of the Heart’ become the title music for Enterprise?”...

worfamerryman ,

I’m happy to read this post. Its all new information to me.

worfamerryman ,

I’m not sure if you have seen archers theme played with the intro video, but the music lines up with the scenes very well. I’d bet that it was made as the opening credits scene.

worfamerryman ,

I’m sure it was a fan creation. It’s just that it aligned so well I could see the computer using that footage when making archers theme.

Totally! I always pay it off each month so there is no interest and I get tons of points.

They also give tons of other benefits, like accidental damage and theft protect on stuff for the first 30 days, double the manufacturers warranty, if I die over seas they will cover the cost to repatriate my body (I live in a foreign country)

There are tons of other things, too. Just don’t care to list them off. I do have to pay about $200/year to have the card, but I think it’s worth it due to the points back.

The final frontier was bad. It was really bad. It had so much random stuff going on and had very little explanations about anything. They should have narrowed their focus a lot.

  1. Wrath of Khan
  2. First Contact
  3. Insurrection
  4. Voyage Home
  5. Nemesis
  6. The Undiscovered Country
  7. Generations
  8. Search for Spock
  9. Motion Picture
  10. Final frontier

I enjoyed the Kelvin films pretty equally. In wouldn’t have started watching Trek if it were not for 09. But I do see them as a separate thing.

worfamerryman ,

What’s the best platform to buy them on if you want to remove the DRM?

worfamerryman OP ,

I’m a bit younger than you, but I still watched plenty of cartoons with those styles. I mean I didn’t have internet as a kid, so I just watched what was on.

worfamerryman OP ,

I really loved TAS. I’d agree about watching them in release order except I think people should really start with TNG.

TOS is a very different show in a lot of ways as much as I love trek, I do not think there were many episodes I’d care to watch again.

worfamerryman OP ,

Maybe I just need a break from TOS. I wish we got more Sulu and Uhura. They are hardly part of the show. I think Bones was difficult to watch in the movies.

worfamerryman OP ,

It being too sexy wasn’t really an issue for me, but Archer was wildly cheesy at times. I really had trouble with him as the captain at times. But it seems he grew into that character in the second or late first season.

Sorry, I do not get this reference?

Canon Connections: Strange New Worlds 2x08 - "Under the Cloak of War"

• “Under the Cloak of War”. The flashbacks in this episode are set during the Federation-Klingon War seen during DIS season one, and a large part of that conflict was the new Klingon cloaking devices that T’Kuvma, and then Kol installed on their various ships. Get it? Yeah, you get it....

worfamerryman OP ,

Thanks, I forgot about lower decks having that ending.

Arizona girl Alicia Navarro, missing since 2019, walks into tiny Montana police station and asks cops to take her off missing children list ( nypost.com )

Alicia Navarro, now 18, walked into a police department in a tiny Montana town 40 miles from the Canadian border and identified herself as the teen who was reported missing in September 2019, Glendale police said Wednesday....

I hope it’s resourcefulness, but it’s hard to imagine a 14 year old making it on her own for such a long time. But who knows, maybe she was doing bug bounties or freelance work and having the payment go through a corporation to get around the age thing. For like $500/year you can incorporate in some places it might even be less.

worfamerryman ,

This is really amazing. I have been looking for something like this for some time. Not super hard, but I am not buying an ebook with drm. I am surprised how many books on on there.

USA! USA! USA!

Seriously, what the hell went wrong? I’m from the states and my wife is from a third would country. We are both just living here. Living in America seems like a nightmare now.

I’ve been here for like 5-6 years now. My sister decided to homeschool her children due to shootings. Luckily, she used to be an elementary teacher and her oldest son is easily completing the material he would be learning at his current age.

But still, why would people go there at this point?

worfamerryman ,

That was a great read. I love the photo of them at the end. It’s so strange to see Spock smiling.

My wife and I really love the cast of this series especially Ortegas and Spock.

worfamerryman OP ,

I agree that it is on brand for Spock. I guess it just stood out since he doesn’t do it much.

worfamerryman OP ,

That’s a great point!

worfamerryman ,

I really enjoyed the stargate movie, but the series was not for me.

I get hard low budget 90s tv feelings from it.

Possible spoilers below….

They recast two great actors in the movie with people who look and act nothing like they did in the movie. I heard they later joked about it and fixed it, but I couldn’t not get that far

worfamerryman ,

I don’t think trusts the case. It works explain why black people or people with less education have higher lower rates of being married.
