I'd probably rank the international date line above sand traps, because (I think) more people have seen a sand trap in person and there's an interesting naval tradition associated with crossing it traveling west.
I think kids should be introduced to it, so they recognize what it is if they find one of great grandma’s letters, for instance (my grandmother wrote the grocery lists in cursive so I became proficient in reading it), and it’s a good way of helping kids practice fine motor skills without doing as many of those godawful penmanship exercises. But I think we need to expand art education for kids and I think cursive and calligraphy should be taught in art classes moreso than in their regular classrooms.
I’m glad. This article doesn’t really get into the details of how and why it’s taken this long to do anything substantial with the site but I’ll just say it’s complicated, and it’s good that all the parties involved seem to have negotiated something that pays respect to the lives lost that night.
I love staying at home watching the snow fall during winter, it’s beautiful, but unfortunately the cold makes my joints hurt so it’s not as fun for me. Having spring and fall is fantastic though, before I moved up here I kinda assumed a lot of the “spring is amazing” sentiment was cabin fever from the months of cold, but nah, spring is pretty great in it’s own right. I grew up climbing the crabapple tree in my grandparents yard on summer vacation and had no idea that it bloomed in spring.
Floridians call it Florabama for a reason. Stealing an old joke from my Iowan family, if that part of the Florida panhandle was given to Alabama, both states average IQs would go up.
… Can we bring back dueling for our representatives?
Also, can someone with more of a history education tell me if the House has always been this much of a clown show or is this bad from a historical perspective too?
