I'd wager there's at least a million Texans that have never left the state. It's hard to get a sense you're part of many other states if you've never left yours. Almost every time I leave the state I experience some kind of culture shock.
It's a good way to get liberals to leave the state. One thing the right does 10x better than the left is long-term strategy. Liberal states may legalize marijuana or add sex education as required teaching but most are one loss away from rolling back everything. Reform of government is usually bottom of their list.
There might've been a sort of "Golden period" where Union membership dropped off and benefits and working conditions were still good, but the longer you go without protections the more ground you lose. The global economy statement is also laughable. Are teleconferenced teachers from China taking the American teachers jerbs?

It's really starting to feel like Texas is just moving backwards in time. Next we'll be "curing" homosexuality with leaches and being dunked in a lake.
I'd give a foolish 8yo ONE shot and write it off as acting without any forethought. He shot again though. If a loud gunshot and splattered brains doesn't snap you out of it then you are literally messed up in the head.
Quite annoying it doesn't have a stop in Austin or San Antonio. A ton of people commute from San Antonio to Austin daily and I bet most people would still rather drive all the way from SAT to DFW rather than drive to HOU and leave their car.
