Learn your history dumb fuck. You don’t have to believe me. You still haven’t answered what’s to gain by pissing tax payers money away to a failed eastern bloc state that formerly peddled weapons to our enemies.
As part of his Labor Day message to workers in the United States, Sen. Bernie Sanders on Monday re-upped his call for the establishment of a 20% cut to the workweek with no loss in pay—an idea he said is “not radical” given the enormous productivity gains over recent decades that have resulted in massive profits for...
Baby boomers anticipate that 47% of pre-retirement earnings will be replaced by Social Security, according to results of an annual survey from the Nationwide Retirement Institute. But the reality for someone making what the Social Security Administration considers the average wage in recent years, about $60,000, is more like...
Use a credit card for every single purchase that will allow it. I have the Amazon prime rewards card, and we order our dog food and many household items from there at 5% cash back.
I acquire cash back and it goes towards the balance each month. I pay the balance in full each month, thereby reaping the rewards (free money) and never pay a cent in interest. Been doing this for years.
Another reason I do this is because I do not want my routing and account numbers online with any business.
One small breach of your bank account and your life savings can be gone. I’m not trusting any big business with that, not to mention the fraud protections other users have mentioned.
If you can exercise discipline it’s a no brainier.
Honestly I’ve found that women have a different relationship with cash. It feels safer, more secure, it’s tangible - I don’t think that translates to credit so well. Just my experience however.
Every employee thinks they’re gonna be the one to stick it to the man and affect profit motives on their way out. Reality? everyone is replaceable. They do not give a fuck about you or your opinion. Your comments will likely go into the bin or a suggestions pool at best. Corporations do they want and it’s almost always the wrong path.
You should definitely pursue that. That’s how making 40% or 50% more can happen overnight - by simply changing jobs. Of course you’ve got to factor in the extraneous things like commute and child care, but that’s the general rule of thumb. Change jobs every 3 years, make more. It’s statistically proven.
I am very lucky to have a chunk of disposable income every month. However, I want to invest and save most of it, because I recognize that disposable income can quickly disappear given the right circumstances....
I opened a high yield savings account and got into the stock market. Your desire to spend drastically decreases when you can see everyday increases that you don’t want to interrupt.
Another one I’ve always liked - Write down what you want to buy and sit on it for a month. If you still want said item in a month, buy it. If you don’t, don’t buy it.
