My attempt to make a photo collage with photos I've taken over the years. ( lemmy.blahaj.zone )

Some years ago, I saw a neat photo collage centered around power lines by some artist, and thought it was a neat idea. Here's my attempt at making one using photos I've taken on my phone throughout the years. This was a project i did a while ago, and thought you might appreciate seeing, even if it's a bit jank in some spots....

Looking at some of those tattoo pictures, yea that does give the same vibes. I assume it's because of the filled in shapes.

I do have a homelab, but it's not big enough for me to even own a rack, so I don't think it would look satisfying. I'll send you a dm if I ever get access to networking equipment of that scale.

Nope. I just adjusted the color, brightened up some of the shadows, and upped the contrast a bit. I used photoshop manly because I'm used to it

I can imagine you'd be able to take a similar looking photo raw as the edited version if you could control everything in the scene, but most of the time you can't control all lighting and colors, so you have to edit the image afterward. I guess that's where computational photography falls into place, but it does make a lot of errors, and obviously doesn't know how you want the image to look.

I usually take pictures on my phone as it's always with me, but for this specific situation, the telephoto lenses restrict too much light, and so the image becomes too noisy and artifactey as the phone tries to compensate for it being under-exposed.
As for the upload limits, i was able to upload the photo at a much larger size (~8mb), but it failed to show a preview of the image, so i had to scale it down even more.
