Can’t wait to never hear another one of their fuckimg stupid Chinese-riddle-threats, fucking hate that shit. Always a ridiculous threat they have zero abillity or intention to see thru

E-mail client alternatives to Outlook (Windows and Android)

Ever since I’ve came to the company as a sole Sys admin (where there was none before) I’ve tried to keep it simple as possible… everyone has MS Office Home&Business, I’ll move everyone to Outlook from the damn Windows Live Mail… and sure thing, I’ll also install Outlook on their phones whoever wants to have Email...

Just use SyncThing or Resilio Sync and practice on an example dummy database with KeepPass rather than get all these random companies involved.

Practice with a keyfile but be very careful. Gets rid of all this “external authentication” bullshit that makes stuff like this even possible. Either you know and have the keyfile or you don’t, no need for companies that acts as authenticators.

Thats ok but they’re non-starter for me (if someone who’s super non-technie needed a pm I would likely recommend it if they’re really bad), I need to own everything and not have to worry about subscriptions or servers or whatever

If it wasn’t always so, it definitely is now.

The more important part to me is easy data portabillity but also that I wanna pay for it once and never have to worry. Actually bought 1Password 7 and that did not age well… :/ Bitwarden was actually a lifesaving stopgap measure and I vowed to never be dependant on a venture/startup/big player password managers ever again and I absolutely do not trust Keychain and also it sucks.

I was actually just thinking about how if I could stop obsessing about the fact I don’t really “control” it fully anymore, its kinda nice that its in a sense, “unhackable” altho I’m sure thats naïve.

I use it more like a music/airplayer and “youtube” device but nice to know anyways. I don’t keep anything important or indispensable on it in any case

Legitimately question the notion that they would be any better off if they can’t even pair in the first place. Wire, meet scissor(s)

Listen buster, I don’t wanna get too deep with this lol. Lets stick to the basics ;) This isn’t the PhilosophIT department 🧐

Edit: I’m being playful with you in case its not apparent. Could go either way sometimez

Holy shit, tough crowd—yikes

This whole thread was looking like cancer until it made a recovery but I was getting pretty crippled and bloody for a time

Edit: prolly just call Apple and get their take on it. Pree sure I can erase rhe whole thing with Configurator, it seems to only be MDM that would contitute an irresistable force and immoveable object type situation

Its not even that, I have all that ironically. Its just those fucking certs or whatever it is that constitutes the “organization” 's digial signature. I have the exact wording just with like a small case letter at the start (like camel case) rather than TitleCase. Uggh! Super annoying. Imma hit Apple up and see what they recommend.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad its that secure, just a bit of a pain and a lasting lesson this time aha :)

Edit: reverse that on the case. Super nitpicky but important detail

cheese_greater OP ,

Its supervised, not MDM

I wonder if power-modding on Reddit is a prison work position available for Ghislaine Maxwell to get back into?
