I was playing Gwendolyn Fairfax in a production of 'The Importance of Being Ernest' once, when my bustle started going south in the final dress rehearsal. In the scene "my own Ernest" was about to hug me when I whispered in his ear , "Ken, grab my bustle!" He did. The director was not amused...

If I could bring anyone back in a time machine, it would be former Governor Anne Richards of Texas. She'd make mincemeat of Trump and his followers, and leave us laughing about it too. She'd really skewer Quaid too, and as a fellow Texan, he'd be fair game.

One of the unexpected joys of my retirement was doing grocery shopping in the middle of the week and early in the day and avoiding crowds...That and I also can get the sale items before they sell out. Yes!

John Gartner is a psychologist who, as founder of Duty To Warn, has raised the alarm about Trump's declining mental fitness. This week, we had the honor of interviewing him for a disturbing conversation about why he’s more worried than ever that the media and the public are missing all the blaring red signs that Trump is slipping rapidly into dementia. https://thinkbigpicture.substack.com/p/john-gartner-trump-cognitive-decline

What every American should consider...If Trump was an average person, not wealthy, famous, or a minority:Where would he be right now? This isn't just about Trump, but about wealth, power, and who you are. He represents some of the worst aspects of our country. Things we could, and should, change. This country put this vile individual into the highest position in our nation. And it says a LOT about us and our priorities as a people and a nation. And it should never be allowed to happen again, or we are lost.

In the grand scheme of things. this is pretty minor.
'Barbie' was good, fun, and enlightening in its own way---but Oscar worthy?

Yes, it does. I had a severe stroke almost 5 years ago. The photo is recent. I'm 71, and have no feeling on the right side, head to toe. Somehow I'm not supposed to look the way that I do, nor still be engaged in life... and I spend time around others trying to help them feel comfortable around me. How others expect me to act, vs. the way I am surprises them, so art in some ways imitates life on this. It's frustrating, but I also get it.

Ever get the sense that polls are weaving a narrative that doesn't quite sync with reality? You're not alone, and the déjà vu is real. It's a bit like the 2022 midterms and the anticipated 'red wave' all over again. How did we end up on this familiar path? What's the real story behind the polls? Let's dive in and unravel the truth. https://thinkbigpicture.substack.com/p/weaponized-polling-republicans-trump-biden

Don't pay attention to polls. I quit doing that years ago.
pay attention to people, what they actually say and what they are doing.
