Trump claims his trials are "political."

But he's been in legal trouble for decades for cheating contractors, running a scam university, & housing discrimination.

He's not being tried because he's running for office. If anything, he's running for office to escape his trials.

@rbreich I feel like the crime of election manipulation - you know, the one he was convicted of - is a political one. Commit political crimes, and expect no political backlash? I just can't stand how much all of the media accepts rightwing framing of issues and functions as Trump's personal propaganda engine
