Lower cost? Proven reliability?
Say what you will of SpaceX and it's sketchy, blow-hard, probably evil boss, Falcon 9 is an incredible product providing great service.

Apple reportedly plans a return to chasing thinness in its hardware designs

Thinness is good, as long as it doesn't come at the expense of other things.

@arstechnica
Feels like "thinness" is a marketing buzzword that Apple's marketing department got addicted to years ago, and just can't kick. Somebody needs an intervention and a trip to rehab.

Adobe promises to “never” train generative AI on user content amid outcry

Adobe scrambles to earn back user trust by updating terms next week.

Amazing how many companies, in the rush to stake some kind of AI claim because "latest marketing buzzword," and especially ones like this that SHOULD know better, are shooting themselves in the foot to get there. Of course, Adobe has a long history of taking its customer base for granted.

“Outrageously” priced weight-loss drugs could bankrupt US health care

Prices would need to be dramatically slashed to avoid increasing the national deficit.

I'm full-blown diabetic and my doctor just put me on Ozempic to bring down my recently rising A1C. Would be terrible if a tag team greedy drug companies, Tiktokers, trendy stars, and fashionistas ruined this for people who actually need it. Not to mention maybe toppling the entire health-care system, bad as it is in the U.S.

First Dream Chaser spaceplane needs more work when it gets to launch site

The rest of Dream Chaser's heat shield tiles will be installed at Kennedy Space Center.

@arstechnica
The rule seems to be, tile heat shields are HARD, and subject to endless fidgeting. And remember that a tile failure killed a space shuttle crew. 90% of the way on a heat-shield isn't enough, and nobody has really proven them as safe and routinely reliable. This remains a major challenge for SpaceX on their Starship as well.

It was stupid of Boeing management to spin off Spirit in the first place. The resulting damage to the company is almost incalculable at this point. Heads should roll at the head office. Boeing needs new management and a return to "engineering first."
