My favorite macOS Sequoia feature so far might be the old-timey Mac wallpaper

Combo wallpaper-screen saver is a walk down memory lane for classic Mac users.

What's it mean when your favorite feature of an o/s upgrade is the screensaver?

In a misguided effort to be "unbiased," most news media have stopped calling Trump's Big Lie about the 2020 election what it is. Instead they're using terms like "false statements" or "claims without evidence."

Memo to the media: Calling out lies isn't "biased." It's your job.

Soon they'll use "alleged".

Periods are starting earlier, becoming less regular, iPhone study finds

Earlier and irregular periods are both linked to poor health outcomes.

71,000+ participants shared their complete demographics + menstruation data.

Was the data anonymized? How secure is this data? No chance of (say) Texas acquiring it?

Donald Trump has violated the gag order placed on him during his NY trial ten times so far. If he keeps violating it, what should Judge Juan Merchan do?

ralfmaximus ,
@ralfmaximus@mastodon.social avatar

@rbreich

Sentence him to 40 hours of public service, 4 hours for each violation. Give him a trash bag & reflective safety vest and make him pick up trash on the interstate.

Mercedes’ electric G-Wagon is more capable than the gas version

With four motors, deeper fording, and more power you can forget about the gas version.

Elon Musk just gave another Mars speech—this time the vision seems tangible

"These are unthinkable numbers, but we’re not breaking any physics to achieve this."

"This will require an absurd amount of launches, 10 per day, and the dispatch of a fleet of hundreds of vehicles to Mars during the short-trip trajectory window that opens between Earth and the red planet every 26 months. Ultimately, while it is challenging, Musk believes that humans could terraform a 'fixer-upper' planet like Mars."

Please, you're KILLING me here. The guy's been snorting his own date rape drug supply far too long.

Google agrees to delete private browsing data to settle Incognito mode lawsuit

What a lawyer calls "a historic step," Google considers not that "significant."

Fascinating. Google agrees to "delete" the data, which could mean anything up to and including "flagging the data as deleted".

What about archival copies? Snapshots & backups? They're REALLY going to find & destroy server backups going back how many years?

Also, I see nothing here about deleting instances of the data Google has shared with non-Google entities.
