Not if it's what you want, but I had success with moonlight+sunshine. Latency is unnoticeable and picture quality is great as long as the connection between the client and server is good

redcalcium , (edited )

If you have a smart tv or chromecast ultra, you can install moonlight directly in your tv. If you're still using a computer for the tv, at the very least using moonlight won't make your client computer's fan spins like crazy. You can even replace it with underpowered computer like a raspberry pi.

Sunshine: https://github.com/LizardByte/Sunshine

Moonlight: https://moonlight-stream.org/

It's mostly used for gaming, but it's more like a souped up vnc with hardware acceleration support and low latency. I mostly use it to access my desktop remotely instead of for gaming. You can tune it between low latency or high quality depending on your use case.

I understand the need for security, but default is powerful, which is why the eu requires os vendors to provide a browser choice screens instead of letting the os vendors to pick their own default browser. Without coupling this restriction with a browser choice screen, this would guarantee to increase edge market share simply because it’s the default.

Which one would you use the most, the dishwasher or the cabinet?

redcalcium ,

I got the feeling that the other commenter is right, that you’ll hate it, every day going forward:

Choose dishwasher over cabinet: every time you don’t use the dishwasher’s full capacity, you’ll wonder why you didn’t go with extra cabinet space instead

Chose extra cabinet space over dishwasher: every time your dirty dishes are too much for your dishwasher, you’ll wonder why you didn’t go with bigger dishwasher instead

How do you know it’s an llm-generated article? Is there a certain pattern?

Theoretically, you can use SFTP. VLC for Android seems to support it (browse -> add server favorite menu), but in practice I’ve never been able to connect to my Linux desktop with SFTP from VLC. It’s simply not connecting and doesn’t produce any error message.

SoftEtherVPN supports Radius authentication. There is also Defguard which supports OIDC.

Can I expose my Nvidia gpu to the lan via a docker container?

I have a P400 in my storage server which currently also runs some media containers like Plex, sonarr-sma, radarr-sma, Jellyfin, exploring Immich, etc. I have the GPU surfaced via docker and added it to each of the containers that needed access to the GPU for hardware acceleration needs. Is it possible to be able to leverage the...

Not sure about docker support, but there is a gpu-over-ip implementation that supports Linux here: github.com/Juice-Labs/Juice-Labs

Maybe try Marker, which uses AI stuff as part of their OCR process.

Stirling also support OCR using OCRmyPDF.

You can also use GPT4-V (e.g. via this library) to perform the OCR. It’ll cost money though.

I had this problem once and I ended up drilling it. Fortunately my drill bit is harder than the anchor, so it works. Wear eye protection though because metal dust is no joke.

Be wary of spiteful Reddit users ( kbin.social )

In the past week and a half, I've noticed Reddit behaviors starting to try and poison all of the places that people are taking refuge in to get away from the toxicity, myself included. They've started to DDoS Lemmy for a while, which is a Reddit thing to do and what they're notorious of doing whenever they feel they don't like...

    redcalcium ,

People on Lemmy can be a bit rude at times, but it’s not like they’re actually toxic. A huge proportion of Lemmy (and mastodon) users have tech background, and this demographic are often very direct and don’t mince their words when posting online, which can appear to be rude and unwelcoming. Just keep your head cool when talking to them.

That being said, toxic people do exist here though, the kind of people that downvotes and do personal attacks when people post something they don’t like instead of doing civilized discussion like normal people. Most people here probably know who I’m talking about lol.

You can try running ReactOS on a VM running directly inside your browser: copy.sh/v86/?profile=reactos
