@arstechnica kaspersky can't say x or y is true because the Kremlin is engaged in what they term hybrid war against the West and do not have rule of law in any sense at all. I believe yandex aleeady had to yield control to the state which led to many of their ethical employees leaving the Russian empire once they realized they could not run the company freely. Believing Kaspersky, which has essentially root access to every system it runs on, can be used safely is the height of willful naivete.
@arstechnica I've told my EV curious friends for tears that it's F for Fraud Fisker. Car designers should not try to make car companies. Design is nice but it's not the car or the factory or the business. I can't believe anyone bought one of these with future failure so obvious from the start.
@arstechnica I'd say now it's time for the next bunch of college students to find a garage, and start building an actual search engine again, from the ground up. The space seems to be empty right now, so ripe for 'disruption' and 'innovion'. While Google remains marginally more useful for my needs than Bing, which has never gotten past, meh, or ddg, which I wish did it for me, but doesn't, just getting a true search company, no AI division to ruin SERPs, would be nice.
@arstechnica Funny how the easiest patterns to match for anyone with a brain are bots, bot activity, etc, yet Google, Tesla, Twitter/X, are unable to stop them. That tells me all I need to know about the BS level of current 'AI' (sic) claims. Even functioning pattern matching should be able to detect bot swarms and activity. What Elon is openly admitting here is that his machine learning doesn't work. Maybe stop to think before putting it in cars? Google's also does not work, spam, etc, same.
