Was reading Wikipedia about a string of serial murders last night. One of the victims was an 81 yo man on the way home from his work. This was in 1973. It's not a new problem, it's just worse than before.
It's almost like how local news networks in the USA are reading the same copy of stories by their handlers to spread propaganda. Gosh, do you think this could be the same?
I'm so relieved to have gone through adolescence before the age of social media. It was an extremely difficult part of life (for all of us, some more than others) already. I can't imagine how completely terrible it must be now.
Perhaps true with office work (so many tales of people saying they got shit code from overseas developers) and such, but I think the savings were very real for manufacturing, at least for a period of time. Happy to be corrected if that's wrong.
It used to be that employers trained new employees. Then they wanted entry-level positions to be filled by people with 3-5y experience in the role. Now they want you to pay for your own training.
I accidentally hit my vape when we experimented with BTO at my last employer. Luckily, I was the first one in and the back door was nearby, so I just rushed outside to exhale. Vaping at home while working had become my norm.
