I feel this touches on two really important points. Firstly the need for a community hub where men and boys can meet and grow, and where we can help men who are feeling lost find places where they can exchange and realise they aren’t alone.
Secondly, brining books allows a broadening of experiences beyond just the people present and a nice counter balance to social media.
Its two seperate actions, applying for asylum and illegally immigrating. If they were honest people, they would have gone to an embassy or official border crossing, and applied. Instead they illegally immigrated and only after they got caught did they apply for asylum.
Also, why would they only arrest the father if they all broke the law?
Also, why is Texas enforcing immigration law when it’s outside of their pervue? They handed the mothers and children over to CBP, so they know the proper procedure; why should they be selectively enforcing the law here?
These restrictions on bodily autonomy are both heartbreaking and infuriating, but I am very glad to read that they are having consequences for the states who are rolling them out. Losing out on doctors, losing out on college students, losing out on vacationers. Their governments and people can start to see the results of their actions.
Now California needs to make a law that any books that have a sexual content rating cannot be sold to public schools. Vendors can then choose between which state they want to sell.
