Is it just me or are there 0 recent news articles about reddit's status after the fiasco? ( kbin.social )

Is reddit really that unaffected? Are tech media companies keeping quiet on purpose? Is the Play app giving more artificial visibility to reddit app VS fediverse apps? It feels like all the mainstream centralized social platforms and search engines (Google) are censoring any updates on reddit's status to maintain a status quo....

PSA: anyone still looking to protest, promote fediverse, any form of rebellion ON REDDIT, the place to do it is r/pics. you can post anything with basically no censorship. as long as you mention John Oliver somehow, the mods aren't going to bother you! ( kbin.social )

r/pics is wide open to all kinds of anti reddit posts, calls for spez to resign, whatever you want with the current rules right now....

Does Liquid Hide Glue fill gaps? ( kbin.social )

I’m repairing a chair and the joints are a bit on the loose side. I was hoping to try Titebond liquid hide glue to put it back together for the long open time and to make future repairs easier. Does anyone know if hide glue fills gaps better than pva? I know epoxy is usually the go-to for gap filling but I’d rather give...

How do I make a Plasma panel completely transparent? ( kbin.social )

So I've loved the minimalist aesthetic of Elementary's Pantheon desktop for a long time now. I even ran Pantheon (on Arch) for a long time but eventually the quirks and bugs got to me and I ditched it. I've now been using KDE for several years but still sometimes get the itch for that aesthetic again....

Patriarchy theory is not valid theory of men’s struggles ( kbin.social )

“Patriarchy” is a floating signifier. It has no clear meaning. Indeed, it means whatever is convenient for it to mean in any given context. “Patriarchy” is furthermore a thought-terminating cliche. Instead of carefully thought out social analysis the Patriarchy is deployed as a non-explanation....

Should we post on our local instances' communities to avoid making the Fediverse centralized? ( kbin.social )

I realized that there are alot of inactive communities across the Lemmy and kbin instances. The beauty of decentralization is that we don't rely on a central instance, if a fediverse instance becomes the central one that hosts the majority of posts, then if that instance goes down, we lose alot. I also suggest posting to small...

How are you doing relative to the 1x by 30 / 2x by 35 / 3x by 40 salary rule for retirement savings? ( kbin.social )

/r/personalfinance was one of my more frequented subreddits and I find it pretty valuable. I figure I should try to help get the ball rolling over in the Fediverse and it seems like this is the most active substitute so far....

how do I add communities like [email protected] to my feed on kbin? I copy and paste the name as i have it here into the search bar on kbin but nothing comes up. ( kbin.social )
