The immediate move to turn off the body camera after saying those terrible things is an admission it’s own way and speaks to the character of this person when they think no one can hold them accountable.
I regularly pass by this encampment. It’s grown recently and there is more garbage than before. It does feel somewhat unsafe to walk by it, so I often go completely around it.
On the one hand, downtown is kind of still a grocery desert since IGA and HMart are still gone. So it sucks that PCC is leaving.
On the other hand, if they were relying on worker foot traffic paying for their overpriced hot bar to turn a profit, that was always a losing proposition. Not sure why they went through with opening when downtown office space vacancies were still at ~30%.
Man fuck SPD. I honestly went into the article trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, dealing with death on the job a bit of black humor is a coping mechanism. As much as I hate SPD I was ready for this to be a bit of that and the effected family upset while the media ran with it.

unsurprising really. their deli selection is nice but I’m only downtown 2 days a week & honestly never consider going there, even though it’s just a few blocks away.
I don’t care if they install shot-spotter or not, it’s not like SPD is gonna fucking protect the public. There are shootings ALL AROUND spd south precinct and they rarely if ever respond.
