Does anyone regret deleting their Reddit account?

Was banned from the sinusitis subreddit for telling (apparently a mod) that a deviated septum absolutely can cause a sinus infection. He got upset and banned me- and even denied my ability to respond to the ban....
Does federation have a bit of a learning curve? No doubt....
It’s almost as if reddit’s first party app couldn’t even compete with third party apps. I used Boost for Reddit and now I’m waiting for Boost for Lemmy...
someone on reddit made some secret subreddits for certain acievements:...
I’m in the post-ban blackpilled mode right no so please forgive me. I know reddit is falling apart but it isn’t happening fast enough. Is there any hope that the whole site will be destroyed? I really just want the whole site / app completely destroyed and thew Vichyite mods unable to have their power trips anymore.
Hello
It was and still is hard - or at least tedious - for me as a software developer to find out how to use the fediverse and lemmy. I can’t imagine how annoying it must be for a normal user. The one thing I really liked about reddit, is that you can find a well written guide for everything, often pinned at the top of a specific...
One of the hurdles to change for users switching from reddit to a federated platform is less content. The logic goes: “smaller community, less content, I can see i’m missing out on stuff over there so I’m not going to switch away”....
Honestly, nobody even looks at other people’s Karma. I didn’t care much about it. Did people really care so much baout Karma that they mourn about it here, or miss it, or used to farm it?...
There’s still some subreddits I’d like to view as their communities haven’t swapped over yet. Like you guys, I obviously don’t want to support Reddit in any way shape or form. Surprisingly, they have not gutted RSS feeds yet. Simply add .rss at the end of the domain. Example...
For the first time ever, I’m getting Reddit notifications, outside of when I get a dm or a comment/post reply from someone. 🧐 Hmm, I wonder if that’s just coincidence…...
This is honestly probably for the best. It’s a really bad idea that we’ve let reddit monopolize niche knowledge
I’m one of the r/futurology mods, and involved in setting up our new Lemmy instance - futurology.today...
I use NetNewsWire on my iPad and Feeder on my Android phone to read RSS feeds from multiple sites (including Lemmy and Kbin). I also use it to monitor niche sub-reddits so I can give Reddit as little traffic as possible....
Note that this is not a request for review bombing, but rather a request for your opinion....
I don’t know if Reddit is just trying to be a dick or what, but as I started to delete some comments, I’m not able to see any comments in my profile “hasn’t commented on anything”, but if I visit actual posts where I’ve commented, I can clearly see my comments there....
I can go to the main page of a Lemmy instance and see whatever is active on that instance at the time, but is there a way to get something like r/all for all federated instances?
Hello all,...
I would love to find someplace to talk about roadtripping, comparing routes and whatnot.
Title is pretty much it. Woke up this morning to an email in the inbox with a reddit message notification from u/reddit...
Haven’t touched Reddit since 7/1 but decided to go back and unsubscribe from every sub today. Figure even if I’m not an active user, I’m also now not a number they can point to as success....
Hardly ever used it, but got a notification from it on my phone the other day which reminded me I still had it on my phone. It was still linked to my old reddit username which got suspended permanently a month or two back, so I finally got around to taking it off....
Just deleted my 12+ year account on Reddit and I’m still feeling weird....
I recently opened the app to ensure that it infact does not work anymore, but it just showed me the newest feed, like it did before. What is going on here? Are people funding this? Or have they switched to a third party API for read only?
