In the last week, Trump has compared himself to Jesus and to Nelson Mandela on account of his perceived, alleged persecution by the legal system. Who’s next, the Dalai Lama? Joan of Arc? The man has zero shame.
@rbreich agreed, trump has no shame, or cares for the rights of people to choose who they want to vote for and feel secure they are not harassed or accused of fraud, as they were in the 2020 election .

Trump is a malignant narcissist. He’d have no power at all were it not for decades of wrong turns the US has taken that, as you yourself pointed have pointed out many times, Dr. Reich, ratcheted more and more wealth away from the middle class and into an increasingly tiny minority. We now have a perfect storm of a huge disaffected mass of people and a deluded individual to lead them. I’m sure Trump has never read #TimothySnyder’s The Road to Unfreedom, but he’s enacting it perfectly because it’s the dictator’s handbook: Instill paranoia in the populace and become their savior. It’s a thrilling read for a history book. It explains every dictator in history. I tell all my friends, “Read that book and watch all of #RobertReich’s YouTube videos about the US economy; then you’ll understand everything that’s going on.”

The Dalai Lama would make a lot of sense actually: Godking of a theocratic regime of slave owners in exile that controls its subject with esoteric brainwashing whose only qualification is uttering an endless stream of feelgood banalities. Yep, that's Trump.
