Excuse me but how is Louis DeJoy still postmaster general?

His destructive 10-year plan for the Post Office—slowing mail delivery, hiking prices for consumers, and speeding up privatization—is in full effect.

Hello?

@rbreich Here in Richmond, VA, we're one of the first cities to have his new plan, and things are BAD. Mail not being delivered for days on end. Packages going missing.

I've also talked to the carriers and they're furious. 18+ hour shifts, constantly changing routes, it's a total nightmare.

I'm a huge fan of USPS, my father was a postmaster, and what he's doing is criminal.

@rbreich

who is on the post office board? specifically.

fmhilton ,

@rbreich Why isn't anyone doing something to remove him?
And don't tell me that the "Civil Service Union" is going to stops it. He serves at the pleasure of the President. He should have been removed the minute Biden took office. He's destroying the Post Office. But of course he's profiting from it, too. Corruption sucks.

@rbreich

bear in mind that the USPS has been sliding down a steep slope long before DeJoyless started pushing it faster.

Crazy Benny (Franklin) is spinning in his grave.

@rbreich Ben Franklin would disagree with DeJoy

mickymorse ,

@rbreich De Joy also colluded and conspired with the coup plotters to delay mail-in ballots. He is a subversive criminal.

@rbreich

My two-step solution approach:

(1) Fire the orange puppet's puppet. (Or more like a puppeteer pretending to be a puppet's puppet?)

(2) Create an alias system of email addresses for snail mail. Imagine the convenience of sending snail mail by merely using the email address. That would greatly encourage people to do all kinds of things with physical mail (again).

What's wrong with the idea? Or what's your better one?

@rbreich

It took 5 days for a letter to travel 50 miles away from me and then I see the post office ad on tv and wonder how much that cost. 🤨😠

@rbreich It's almost like both parties, despite one being overtly fascist and the other nominally center-right, both follow the orders of their sponsors instead of their constituents.

Get the Postal Commission to be fair...and fire him and his lying buddies.

@rbreich

Take a long look at the UK Post Office scandal where 100's of innocent post office franchisees were falsely accused of stealing by a software system that the PO board knew was faulty and the board covered it up!

The stench came right from the top by a team of saboteurs just like yours.

Conservatives worldwide are all in the same game of smashing up & piratising (not a typo) all public utilities.

They are a rogue breed of self righteous brigands & liars.

@rbreich Americans in general don’t truly appreciate how historically amazing the USPS is. It’s unfortunate

urwumpe ,

@rbreich 25 years ago, sending a letter from USA to Germany was 5 times cheaper and twice as fast as sending the reply back.

We had privatized our postal service first.

Because the president doesn't have the power to remove him.

And the Rebs successfully stalled the appointments until Trump could be in and stack the board.

Another example of Dems not willing to exercise political power.

Louis DeJoy should be no closer to running the entire Post Office than being a sub-postmaster in Gnome.

DeJoy wants to privatize the USPS to get at its real estate, and to remove a competitor of the private sector. He's an enemy of public service. His work as a government employee should be terminated.

PatrickoftheG ,

@rbreich Is it because Democrats and Republicans make a lot of money, yes both parties, to keep him there destroying the post office? A lot of campaign donations and PACs I am sure fund DeJoy's ride.
