@georgetakei For those who are interested, the Board held a special meeting last night on this topic. After some Board member apologies and 5+ hours of public comments, 95% of which critical of this decision and in support of LGBTQ+ rights, the Board voted 5-4 to reinstate the talk as originally planned. The fact that it was such a close vote was still disappointing, but still a win for the community. Based on many of the comments, I expect a shakeup in the Board after next year's election.
@georgetakei This school district is held as one of the "best" in the area... for rich white kids. Such a closed minded education doesn't prepare you for the complexities and diversity of the real world. Shameful.
