Is it that hard?

@georgetakei
it's non trivial compared to out of stock message.
You have inventory amounts which count down with each sale until it hits zero where it displays out of stock automatically.

@georgetakei It can be, especially if you have multiple sales channels.

@georgetakei No, leave it on the website but make it clear that it's out of stock IN THE SEARCH RESULTS. Taking something off the site implies to the user that the thing they want has gone out of production entirely, not that the site has merely run out.

Of course, if something's been out of stock for a long while because it's out of production, and new old stock isn't forthcoming, then yes, get rid of it.

@georgetakei looks like it. Recently I wanted to order at a webshop with my credit card, but it failed twice. Support later told me that they are in a process odd restructuring their shop and credit card and paypal were not working at the moment. And I really didn’t understand why the didn’t disable these payment options then.

@georgetakei Actually, it's flacid.

@georgetakei Honestly i kind of want the listing still up there as long as it's properly labeled in the listing without having to load up the product details, because that's annoying too. Nothing I hate more on a website than things that just "disappear" without explanation. It's a confusing experience for the user (speaking as a web developer).
