Sony backs down, won’t enforce PSN accounts for Helldivers 2 PC players on Steam

What will Sony do next for an audience that likes its games but not its network?

@arstechnica So, hey... Tough luck to those who maybe would've liked cross-play with friends without the current ridiculously-clunky Friend Code system that the game is now stuck with.

Because creating a free PSN account with no meaningful data attached to it is "fascism" or something.

@arstechnica Usually when this happens they back down for a little bit, until the furore has died down and everybody is tired of it, and then do it quietly anyway...

@arstechnica Every time I see a third party launcher for a game that doesn't need one, I hope the executive who ordered it goes blind and lives a life of forever pain.

Ubisoft? 2k? Sony?

All of them, fuck you all for third party launchers.
