Each of Trump's 34 criminal counts of false business filings in the New York case carries a penalty of up to four years in prison.

If Trump is convicted, what should the sentence be?

SkipHuffman ,
@SkipHuffman@astrodon.social avatar

@rbreich Four years concurrent, plus additional for contempt of court.

@rbreich I would give him the full 4 years all running together. Out in 4 years less for good behavior. He will appeal the sentence, but, keep him locked up. Free dental.

mmalc ,

@rbreich

I think to begin with at least I'll be struggling to get out anything beyond a clause — “Wahoo!” "Yippee!” and "Superb result” are utterances that come to mind. Maybe after calming down a bit the measured, reflective sentence should be something like, "This is a good day for justice, finally showing that no-one is above the law.”

@rbreich Four years. Then, "four more years." Then, "four more years." And so on, until he is dead.

TheNovemberMan ,

@rbreich 34 + 34 + 34 + 34 = 136, so yeah, 136 years. With the possibility of parole at 120 years, with good behavior. 😂

So yeah, 136 years. I'm good with that. 😁
