Google's Gemini AI wants to help you plan, brainstorm, and shop inside Search.

How about they help me by leaving me the **** alone?

I don't think they're capable of implementing that feature.

@arstechnica None of those things which are not Search are things I want to do in 99% of the cases where I wish to perform a search.

I remember when Google Search was applauded for it’s clean UI, simplicity, and tight focus.

We have lost our way.

I just want google to give me a list of non-sponsored URLs relevant to my search results. You know, like it did back in 2004 when it was a useful tool.

"Google's Gemini AI wants to help you plan, brainstorm, and shop inside Search."

But not, I can't help but notice, search.

@arstechnica Essentially, web will be replaced by question box.
As this experience is not based on index per se, and not on a results of search from that index, projects like will have a difficult times - either by loss of access to public search "AP|", or by absence of such results list as a thing.
As other search providers will follow the suit, it may require to run or other similar software just to get classic search experience based on search results list.

@arstechnica all while providing scrappy results. But hey, they gotta shove AI garbage down our throats somehow.

@arstechnica Google should try reimagining their entire company.

@arstechnica Google is a waste of space now. Other search engines are so much better. How the mighty has fallen

@arstechnica It still doesn't reliably set timers, control lights in my house or control my music on my devices as well as the previous non-AI Assistant did.

They can maybe finish it before they expand it.
