Thoughts?

@georgetakei I think it depends on how it's cut; but to me, I prefer eating sandwiches whole the way it is. Unless of course it's Subway, then might as well have it cut in half.

@georgetakei George, he said, “no discussion ”!

@georgetakei

Twice as nice diagonally cut into quarters

KenDisbrow ,
@KenDisbrow@mastodon.social avatar

@georgetakei It’s well known a diagonal cut is the only one that improves flavor.

@georgetakei When you cut the sandwich diagonally, all of the calories leak out, so not only is the sandwich tastier and easier to eat (seriously, who eats the sandwich whole?), but it is now healthier, and better for your diet.
Sandwich Science, ftw.

Ah but which way?
Straight across or diagonal.

@georgetakei A sandwich tastes better when cut on a diagonal vs vertically.

@georgetakei Dagwood, the world’s foremost expert on eating sandwiches, would disagree.

@georgetakei They always taste better when they are cut diagonally!

@georgetakei Also when the lettuce is on top.

@georgetakei Well then, cutting it twice ought to make it even better!
And once again!
Pureed FTW.

@georgetakei
It's a lot easier to eat if it's cut in half. But it has to be whole grain bread.

KMKowalski ,
@KMKowalski@federated.press avatar

@georgetakei
It's all about making the sandwich easier to eat.
Definitely true for sandwiches made with sliced bread. And diagonal cuts are more visually appealing, although there's often less mess with a horizontal or vertical cut.
For a pita or wrap, it depends on how thick the sandwich is.

@georgetakei it limits big bite opportunities

@georgetakei Only with a sandwich cut in half does your first bite not include crust. This is the essential basis of scientific truth for this claim.

@georgetakei From Googling my first thoughts

"Nick Fury uses the fact that he cannot eat diagonal toast to prove to Carol that he's not a Skrull (aliens with the ability to shapeshift into other people). However, that led to some speculation that post-Captain Marvel Fury was a Skrull due to the way he eats a sandwich in Avengers: Age of Ultron."

WhippoorwillSong ,
@WhippoorwillSong@mstdn.social avatar

@georgetakei Sliced diagonally. Primo.

mrsbeanbag ,
@mrsbeanbag@ieji.de avatar

@georgetakei yes and it has to be cut along the diagonal for best results. unless it's a breakfast sandwich, which has to be cut from side to side
