By refusing to recuse himself from Jan 6 cases, Alito is violating the court's code of ethics, which call for recusal when “the Justice’s impartiality might reasonably be questioned…”

If flying 2 pro-insurrection flags doesn't call his impartiality into question, what does?

@rbreich At this point I wish the Democrats would run on an impeach the corrupt judges platform and do it.

Even if it can’t work (I’m under the impression you need 2/3rds of the votes) per se I want everything they have ever done to be examined and broadcasted far and wide.

Because SCOTUS is suppose the be the best of us, and now the majority is the worst of us. There should be no higher standard in the country.

@rbreich Honestly, I think we've reached the point where no one working for Trump or Project 2025 truly pretends to be anything less than a loyalist with blatant bias. It has reached a point where they get away with it anyway.

I think the real question is: will anyone find a way to finally stop them? Each one should be removed from their positions -- heck just give them basic competency tests and they'll fail. But will anything ever happen?

@rbreich

Every conservative / Republican justice should recuse themselves based on that standard. But they won't, because they have no shame. They don't particularly care how far they drag the court's name down into the mud.

@rbreich Alito won't recuse from the Jan 6 cases because he is more loyal to the cause he has embraced than he is to his oath or his country. He should resign before he destroys more of the Court's integrity.

@rbreich
Pro-insurection flags should mean he refused himself from that as the bare minimum.
Resign from the court completely would seem more in line with supporting an insurrection against the federal government.

@rbreich Would he 'recuse' even if there were evidence that he raised the flag himself? Nope.

I was thinkin about this, not specifically Alito, but both he and Thomas...

Given that they are both Chump followers, they should follow the same criteria Chump laid out about Judge Merchan. Chump claimed that Merchan should recuse as his daughter worked for liberals, well Ginny Thomas works for conservatives. Chump claimed that Merchan can't be impartial because of his daughter, well Alito can't be impartial for being married to Martha Alito.

@rbreich Has anybody maybe told him it's his impartiality may be reasonably questioned?? If i was a lawyer going in front of the Supreme Court, I would challenge that my case was being fairly tried.

@rbreich it is not “good behavior”

Nahmia ,

@rbreich With the way Alito is acting I have been coming to the conclusion that if 2 or more Justices vote for any Justice to be removed from this one case (not permanently), then they will be forced off that case and cannot hear or vote on any part of it. If 6 or more vote to permanently remove a Justice, then that Justice will be removed permanently. In both, it will work on both, even the Chief Justice.

@rbreich Nazis are Nazis whether they're impartial or not. That's all.
