During the start of covid, I helped a church I was connected to go online.

We were pinged for copyright playing

  1. recordings over 80 years old
    AND
  2. were published by the denomination that church belonged to
    AND
  3. were originally written in the early to mid 1800's

Someone claimed ownership of one or more of the arrangement, melody or lyrics.

I'm talking about songs like "O COME, O COME EMMANUEL", which dates back to the 12th century and was translated into English in the1850's.
