@arstechnica The AMA has deprecated BMI as a primary diagnostic indicator because it doesn't give an accurate picture of patient health and drives misdiagnosis and medical neglect. Are these people trying to bring it back?

Also kids tend to chunk up before they have growth spurts. Using BMI doesn't take this into account.

@arstechnica Fun fact: "BMI" isn't imperfect, it's completely unfounded in any medical or scientific sense.
